What is a Link Trading?

A reciprocal link is an exchange of a link between two sites; You create a link to their site and they return the favor by linking back to you.

"Back Links" are links from other websites to your website. They are important because Google and, to a lesser extent, the other major search engines look at back links to your site as "votes" saying that and is relevant for particular keywords.

Having a link to your site from another related field makes it more likely for web surfers to see your site and actually pay it a visit.

IE. Someone looking a links on a caterers site sees your site. The more relevant search engines judge your site to be, the higher your site ranks in the search engine results pages for those keywords. The number of links to your site is not as important to having one from a relevant site.

IE. A link from a funeral home may actually hurt if the search engine does not see it as a relevant site.

OK... Enough with the heavy.. Here it is simply...

Rule of thumb, always place a link on your site to the site you wish to exchange links with first before you contact them with your link exchange request. This is courtesy.

Contact by phone, email or personal contact and let them know you wish to exchange links for mutual benefit. Most will understand this concept.

I've added your link on my web site www.photopreviews.com at http://www.photopreviews.com/res-Photography-Resources.html

Let me know if you wish to make a change.
